People of India elected Narendra Damodardas Modi as the 16th Prime minister of India with a lot of dreams and expectations. Modi claimed that he had created a high rate of GDP growth in Gujarat. Modi projected himself as a person who could bring about "development," without focus on any specific policies. His message and vision found support among young Indians and among middle-class citizens.
But the question is did he delivered as promised? Are we experiencing the “achhe din” Modi had promised in his election speeches in early 2014?
Achievements:
- Foreign policy: Modi made it a personal agenda, to uplift India’s name in the International level. He has visited 53 countries till march 2018 .
- Modi Effect: Modi is a strong leader and BJP was able to market Modi to bring majority of states under BJP rule. BJP rule 21 states as of march 2018.
Failures:
- Fuel prices: The government is a failure when it comes to fuel prices. Despite the low price of crude oil, the petrol and diesel prices rises continuously.
- Peace and harmony: India under BJP became an intolerant country. Violence against minorities, dalits and women is all time high. The govt failed to resolve hatred and violence against religious minorities. Cow vigilantes runs the show. These groups lynches minorities and beat up dalits who oppose them.
- Corruption: According to Forbes, India is the most corrupt Asian country . The govt is alleged to support crony capitalists for monetary benefits. Some of the scams of BJP govt are Rafale scam, Vyapam, UTI scam, NULM, Gujarat Cooperative Bank Scam 2003 etc.
- Aadhaar: Aadhaar was introduced as the perfect solution to integrate the details of people with government programmes. But now? It created more problems for people than helping them. BJP and Modi opposed Aadhar during UPA govt. Modi took a U-turn after he was elected to the office. Many people lost hard earned money due to problems created by Aadhaar. Leakage of Aadhaar data was also shocking.
- Demonetization: Modi claimed that with demonetization black money and terrorism can be reduced. The truth is that 99% of the devalued note returned to RBI. What was the benefit? It is the first time in history that demonetization took lives. About 100 people died waiting in the queues and lack of liquid money to buy food. What a shame! Even the economy suffered, not to mention the number of MSME’s shut down in the aftermath of demonetization.
- Counterfeit notes and terrorism: BJP claimed that demonetization could fight counterfeit notes which in turn reduces terrorism. But, it was BJP leaders who printed counterfeit notes of newly introduced 500 and 2000 notes.
- Digital India: According to the latest reports, the flow of digital transaction has come to the same level as before demonetization. The govt failed to encourage digital transaction.
- Farmers: BJP failed our farmers. Farmers are protesting and no media or govt pay attention to them.
- Advertisements: The Modi government has spent a whopping nearly Rs 3,755 crore in three and half years on its publicity till October 2017! Remember, people are dying of hunger and poverty.
- Job creation: Promised 2 crore jobs a year! Instead, Modi said selling pokadas is a job. No jobs, only pakodas!
- Kashmir issue: Kashmir issue has worsened under BJP rule. Terrorism is on the rise. The number of security personnel killed in terrorist violence in the state has increased 72% under BJP rule.
- Pakistan: No words!
- China: Mistrust, border clashes and Doklam military standoff, this is Indio-China relationship. BJP openly boycotted Chinese products, but secretly brought campaign materials from China.
- Nepal: India’s relationship with Nepal has worsened. China is competing with India in every aspect including foreign policy. Nepal’s Pm K.P Oli is pro-china and pledged to increase ties with China and reduce dependence on India. If India doesn’t act quickly, China will win the race.
- Beef ban: Beef is so much controversial, just talking about beef may get you killed! So many innocent people were killed in the name of beef. It's nothing but terrorism! Also, RSS and other cow vigilantes were keen to take away cows from Dalits and Muslims for fear of killing for beef but failed to protect cows from hunger.
- Distortion of history: RSS is known to distort history for their political propaganda. Recently in Kerala, RSS distributed ‘saffron books’ in govt schools which lead to statewide protest for poisoning young minds. This is much wider in northern states where BJP is in power.
- Lokpal: The role of Lokpal protest and Anna Hazare was important in the 2014 elections. BJP failed to pass the bill, even after 4 years in the office and Modi is silent about it. Recently, Anna Hazare decided to resume the protest for Lokpal from March 23.
- VVIP culture: Maybe BJP was able to take away red beacons from govt vehicles and not more(But the credit goes to AAP). Do you think BJP was able to stop VIP culture?
False Promises:
- In 2014, BJP promised to clean Ganga in 3-4 years.
- BJP cabinet minister Rajnath Singh said we'll bring black money within 150 days.
- ₹15 lakh promise
- Land Acquisition Bill
- Modi pledged to send Criminal Politicians behind the bars in 1 year. Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi withdrew the criminal case against him!
- Make in India and Swachh Bharat
- Article 370
- According to one report, over a crore toilet were built during the per year in the period 2008-11, compared to just 80 lakh toilets built across the country in 2015-16.
- Renaming policies of UPA: Modi Has Merely Renamed 19 Out Of 23 Congress Schemes!
Conclusion:
Indians Are Worse Off Under Modi
P.S: Please don’t call me an anti-national for my opinion! I love my country and it is my right to point out mistakes in the govt.
Jai Hind!
