The Karnataka Flag Row

Every State has its own culture, tradition and beliefs that forms a strong identity of that state. Most states have their own state animals, birds, trees and more. Elephant is the state animal of Kerala and Karnataka, whereas Tiger is our national animal.

Will having state animals and trees, do any harm to the status of national animal or national tree? Everything that a state associate and give special status strengthen the state identity. After all, we Indians proudly proclaim, “Unity in Diversity” and fails to understand that diversity is essential to maintain the Unity!

I am presently living in Bangalore and it is a common sight to see flagpoles with the banner flying proudly on streets of Karnataka. The flag has assimilated not only to the culture but also in the blood of Kannadigas!
On March 08, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah unveiled the state flag, calling the move a historic decision keeping in mind the history of the state and promote cultural identity. This was the start of present flag row. But this was not the first. This Kannada flag has been held with high respect by many leaders like APJ Abdul Kalam, BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa etc.

Review on Modi led BJP Government.

People of India elected Narendra Damodardas Modi as the 16th Prime minister of India with a lot of dreams and expectations. Modi claimed that he had created a high rate of GDP growth in Gujarat. Modi projected himself as a person who could bring about "development," without focus on any specific policies. His message and vision found support among young Indians and among middle-class citizens.
But the question is did he delivered as promised? Are we experiencing the “achhe din” Modi had promised in his election speeches in early 2014?

Achievements:
  • Foreign policy: Modi made it a personal agenda, to uplift India’s name in the International level. He has visited 53 countries till march 2018 .
  • Modi Effect: Modi is a strong leader and BJP was able to market Modi to bring majority of states under BJP rule. BJP rule 21 states as of march 2018.

Will giving a Lingayat community a different religious status, help Congress in the Karnataka election?

Just months before the Karnataka Assembly election, Siddaramaiah-led Congress govt on Monday, 19 March accepted the recommendation of Nagamohan Das Committee for a separate religion status for the members of the Lingayat community. This has become controversial. The BJP has already slammed that the Karnataka govt is playing with fire!
